Old West End at a glance

The Old West End is a historic neighborhood in Toledo, just northwest of downtown. Most of the houses went up between about 1875 and 1915. Styles include late Victorian, Edwardian, and Arts and Crafts, and many houses are large, two or three stories. The mailing city is Toledo.

Part of the neighborhood is the Old West End Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, with the boundary enlarged in 1984. The Toledo Museum of Art sits at the south end. The Old West End Festival, held each year, includes house tours.

Historic district rules

The City of Toledo also maps a local Old West End historic district. Rules for that district can affect exterior changes, such as windows, porches, and additions. Ask the city what applies to a specific house before you plan work. National Register listing by itself is not the same thing as a local permit rule.

Getting around

Collingwood, Scottwood, and Robinwood are among the main streets. Downtown is a short drive or ride. This is an inland neighborhood, not a river or lake frontage.

Public schools are Toledo Public Schools. Assignment is by address. This site does not rate or compare schools.

Redfin's neighborhood page reports a median sale price of $93,724 for the three months ending September 2026 (checked Oct 24, 2026). Sales in the same season have ranged from small houses and condominiums to large historic houses, so the midpoint is not a price for a mansion or for a small house. Few sales close each month, and the median can jump. It is not a ZIP figure.
